How to burn it

First burn

Let the wax melt all the way to the edge - about 2 to 3 hours. This sets the melt pool and stops tunneling later.

Trim the wick

Trim to about 1/4 in (6 mm) before every burn. A short wick keeps the flame low and clean.

Keep it under 4 hours

Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time, then let it cool before relighting.

Keep the bark

When the wax is gone, the bark still holds its scent. Leave it on a shelf, a desk, or in a drawer.

Questions

Does the cinnamon bark burn?

No. The wick and the soy wax burn inside the vessel. The bark wall is thick - it warms up and releases its scent, but it does not catch fire.

How long does one candle burn?

40 to 60 hours for a 7oz candle, and 30 to 40 hours for a 4oz. Burning about an hour each evening, one 7oz candle lasts close to two months.

When will my order arrive?

We pack your order within 1 to 2 business days and delivery takes another 3 to 5, so most orders arrive within a week. We ship from our warehouse in Houston, Texas, and shipping is free on orders over $80.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, as long as the candle is unburned and in its original packaging. Return shipping is at your cost unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.

Will my candle look exactly like the photos?

Close, but not identical. Each vessel is carved from a different piece of bark, so the grain, color and shape vary. That is the point.

How does it arrive?

Every order ships in a ZUNGZA box with a printed card inside. We don't offer a personalised gift note yet.

Why ZUNGZA is different

    Every jar is a single piece of 15-year-old Trà Bồng cinnamon bark. The grain, the colour and the shape differ on each one — yours will not look exactly like the photo.

  • 24 hours of handwork

    Each jar is shaped by hand by artisans in Trà Bồng, Quảng Ngãi. One candle takes a full day, from raw bark to finished piece.

  • A clean burn

    100% soy wax with a cotton wick. No paraffin, and no black soot on your walls.

  • 40–60 hours per candle

    A 7oz candle burns 40 to 60 hours. At an hour each evening, that is close to two months from a single jar.
